About Anne
Anne Haag (she/her) provides individual psychotherapy services to adults with a wide range of presenting issues including trauma, anxiety, depression, relational issues, grief, and work-related burnout. Her approach to therapy is integrative and responsive to patient needs, but Anne particularly enjoys a psychodynamic relational approach. Within this framework, clients can expect to become more aware of their unconscious thoughts and how early life experiences impact thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and relationship dynamics in the present.
Anne enjoys helping people process and navigate trauma. She is fully trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Her goal is to make therapy as comfortable and non-threatening as possible, even when dealing with life’s hard stuff. Anne also provides couples therapy services and has completed Level 1 of the Gottman Method training. She enjoys helping couples navigate conflict in more productive and communicative ways while helping them to reconnect with what brought them together in the first place.
Anne is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Kentucky and earned her Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois Chicago. During grad school, she completed placements at Guardian Hospice and Rush University Medical Center’s Center for Clinical Wellness. Prior to that, she completed a 60-hour training and volunteered for 5 years as a crisis counselor for survivors of sexual violence in emergency rooms around Chicago. This work has been foundational in her approach to trauma-informed therapy.
Before becoming a therapist, Anne worked for 7 years as a Law Practice Management Advisor at the Chicago Bar Association, where she taught many continuing legal education seminars about mental health and wellness within the legal field.
