Andrea McPhillips, LCSW

Andrea McPhillips is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Kentucky.

Andrea enjoys working with children of all ages and specializes in early childhood mental health. She is trained in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and provides PCIT to families of children ages 2-7. Andrea works with children experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety and ADHD. She works with children who have experienced trauma and uses a trauma-informed care approach during therapy sessions. Andrea helps families manage challenging behaviors by focusing on positive behavior strategies, emotional regulation skills and co-regulation skills. She works alongside parents and caregivers and shares techniques and strategies to support the child’s mental health at home.

Andrea takes the time to connect with her clients and strives to provide a calm, safe and supportive therapeutic environment. Andrea believes a safe, supportive environment promotes growth and helps clients achieve their goals. She uses CBT and DBT techniques, play therapy techniques and motivational interviewing techniques when working with clients and families.

Andrea earned her Bachelor’s in Social Work from EKU in 2013 and her Master’s in Social Work from NKU in 2017. Andrea has been working with children and families in the mental health field since 2017.
